The goal is simply to get out, enjoy a winter day, check current snow conditions, and hopefully find some good turns higher up while keeping things safe and fun. Summit is optional and will depend on conditions and group energy.
This is intended as a mellow, social day in the mountains with flexible terrain choices.
Comfort skiing 25–30° terrain in variable snow is recommended.
We may encounter short sections up to ~35°, but steeper terrain is not the goal of the day.
A old 7years old video can give a taste of the area.

After going back there 2 weeks ago, trees and skiing skills have grow a lot ;)

Primary meeting point:
9:00 AM at the Mount Mulligan trail entrance (at Bonk Hill, Mamquam FSR), assuming vehicles can make it comfortably.
The road has recently been rebuilt and is generally in good condition, but there are still some steeper sections. AWD or 4x4 is strongly recommended.
If you are driving a 2WD vehicle, we can meet lower down at Bonk Hill on the Mamquam River FSR and consolidate vehicles from there. Please indicate your vehicle type when signing up so we can coordinate.
There is ongoing pipeline construction in the area, so expect industrial traffic and large trucks on the FSR. Please drive cautiously and allow extra time.
I'm based in Squamish. If participants coming from vancouver and would like to meet up and carpool, feel free to comment in the trip thread to coordinate and possibly drive in together, using the usual BCMC rule for gas!
*** Details may be updated the night before the trip based on road and snow conditions. ***
