Start from Blackcomb, 2 days trip. 40km around 2000 meters of elevation
Requirements:
- Camping gear and clothing, you should be comfortable to spend minus 10-15 C nigth in your sleeping system, we will discuss sharing tents.
- Water, fuel, food and sugar reserves. (Get food and energy bars for 3 days 2 nights, group needs to have at least 1 stove for 2 people)
- Min AST1 certification, Transceiver with 100% batteries , probe and showel, headlamp/s.
- Ropes (min 2x 30 meters for a group) and crevasse rescue/safety gear, ice axe, be ready for rappelling (do not expect it to be necessary).
- Boot crampons (must), ski crampons (optional if you trust your skins).
- You mast be confident on your skies or splitboard (Be able to make black runs in questionable contitions), make transition in 5 mins or less.
- Fitness level, should allow to make 1500 meters of elevation 25-30 km day without struggling.
- Emergency communication, navigation tools.
This is the first time me doing this itinerary. I want experienced people in the group that are able to contribute to route/line choosing and terrain estimation, but not blindly follow the tracks.
We will have WhatsApp group to discuss weather conditions and trip details.
Event relies on a good weather window, if weather conditions are questionable trip would be canceled or rescheduled.
