Participant Information

Early season hiking to leading peak on Anvil Island.  Anvil Island has no ferry service, and is accessible only by boat.  Nonetheless, it reportedly has a very nice trail leading to its summit.

We will travel to and from Anvil Island by water taxi, getting dropped off and picked up from the Daybreak Point camp (who has given me permission to land on the trip date).   All trip participants will be required to sign a waiver exempting the camp of any liability for crossing their property.

Mercury Launch charges $25 / person each way for drop off and pick up on Anvil Island, and I will be collecting money at Horseshoe Bay on the morning of the trip ($50 total).

The minimum number of paricipants has been reached, and so the water taxi has been booked.  At this point I am on the hook for the cost of the water taxi.  Thus, please treat signing up on this trip as a commitment to show up on the day of the trip.

Send me an email if you have any questions.

NOTE: Trip will run Rain or Shine and will be cancelled only if the water taxi is unable to run due to conditions.

UPDATE MAY 3: The water taxi has been booked and arrangements made with the camp on Anvil Island.  We will have 6.5 hours on the Island, so we shouldn't be too pressured for time (this is longer than the "time to allow" listed in 103 hikes), but at the same time we will have a hard deadline for returning to the dock, so please only sign up if you feel comfortable in doing the hike in this amount of time.
