Participant Information
Trip Description: I am hosting this Sunday morning hike at Tunnel Bluffs as part of my progressive training for longer, multi-day backcountry trips.

Full Transparency: This will be my first time doing the Tunnel Bluffs trail. While I am experienced on the North Shore, I haven't been on this specific trail before. We will navigate the route together. If you have any questions or concerns about please feel free to message me!

The Route:
https://www.alltrails.com/en-gb/trail/canada/british-columbia/tunnel-bluffs-from-lions-bay-alternative-route
Distance: ~11.5 km round trip
Elevation Gain: ~538 m
Pace: A moderate, sustained pace.
Terrain: The first 2 km is a relentless, steep climb. Once we knock that out, the remaining distance to the viewpoint is a relatively flat, rolling, and scenic stroll.

Important Parking Note:
Parking in Lions Bay is notoriously difficult. We are starting from the Sunset Trailhead in Lions Bay (Do NOT go to the Tunnel Point parking on the Sea to Sky, as they tow cars there). If lot is full, overflow parking is at the Lions Bay Elementary School, which will add to the start of our hike. Please arrive early and plan accordingly. Carpooling is highly recommended!

Gear:
The 10 Essentials.
Plenty of water.
Proper trail footwear.
A snack/lunch to enjoy at the viewpoint if you'd like.
