On this site, we try to cover many sectors of all the countries found on this planet- society,  economy, governance, equity, nationalism, etc. and how they interact with the climate, biosphere and so forth. Nothing is independent from the other, rather all these aspects interact with others in a constant dynamic that is currently badly out of balance. Therefore this site attempts to deal with all the interconnected issues that affect the current climate and ecological crises and what we can do about them.

Along with ice axes, crampons, and skis, the camera has been a vital piece of mountaineering equipment. Mountain Light presents a selection of the best images taken by some of the most outstanding photographers from the British Columbia Mountaineering Club (BCMC) since its foundation in 1907. These images were taken for various reasons: to record shared experience and achievement, to survey and map, to educate, or to depict the natural beauty of the land. In addition, they are all works of art.

orcbc.ca — Outdoor Recreation Council of BC ORC’s mission is to conserve and enhance outdoor settings and resources in British Columbia and secure public access to them for recreation.

coastalbc.com — A site dedicated to outdoor recreation.  Largely Vancouver Island focused, with lots on the mainland as well.  Everything from hiking and climbing to sailing and skateboarding.

avalanche.ca — The Canadian Avalanche Association represents avalanche professionals working in Canada. The Canadian Avalanche Centre contributes to the goal of reducing avalanche incidents worldwide. Their Level 1 and Level 2 avalanche courses are respected globally.
