All BCMC Trips, Courses and Events Cancelled Until Further Notice
March 18th, 2020 - Due to the Covid 19 Situation, all BCMC Cabins Are Closed
BCMC & VIMFF present an evening with climbing legend Jim Donini, plus a screening of On The Verge, climbing in the backcountry of Powell River, BC.
This is what the schedule is going to look like for volunteers we still need someone for the 23rd and 24th.

BCMC Short Film Contest - The challenge is on!
Exploring means more than just climbing the highest mountain, it also means being creative, innovative and resilient. With this in mind BC Mountaineering Club invites you to participate in a short film contest. We are looking for up to 10 minute creations under the theme: "2020 Summer Adventure COVID Style". Let us celebrate the everyday mountaineer amidst COVID-19 restrictions!
Contest criteria
- Open to BCMC members only
- Each contestant may submit only one entry
- Any still images and film clips that are part of the film must be original
- The images and film clips can be shot with a smart phone, digital camera, action camera, or any handheld video devices
- The length of the film must be no longer than 10 minute

- Structure and quality
Prizes
- First prize: 200 Dollar MEC gift certificate.
- Two 2nd prizes: 100 Dollars each, MEC gift certificates
- Four 3rd prizes: 50 Dollars each, MEC gift certificates
