Welcome to the B.C. Mountaineering Club

The BCMC is a group of like-minded individuals who participate in outdoor activities. The club was established in 1907 and in September 2019 reached a new milestone of 1,300+ active member accounts. The club organizes mountaineering, rock climbing and back country skiing trips throughout the year. The BCMC holds monthly socials, offers courses to members and represents the interests of mountaineers and back country skiers in British Columbia.

News: December 8th, 2020 - BCMC COVID Guidelines

Mountain Lake Hut, North Creek Hut and Plummer Hut are now open and can be booked online

The club will be continuing operations in a limited way as of December 8th, 2020 in alignment with the BC Government's Phase 3 strategy. Our guidelines for trip organizers and all participants can be found in the BCMC December 8th 2020 Covid Phase 3 Guidelines document.  This includes a decrease to a maximum group size of 8.

We will continue to monitor the situation and follow the recommendations of Canadian Health Agencies.

Packrafts turn rivers and lakes from obstacles into adventures, opening all kinds of new routes and objectives. Join Squamish-based packrafter and guide Cam Fenton along with Sam Waddington from Mt. Waddington's Outdoors for a presentation on packrafting routes and adventures near Vancouver, and a deep dive into gear and equipment. We will round up the talk with a Q&A session so start preparing your questions now!
